Stage Ai is a new education provider founded in San Francisco and launched in China in 2016. Stage Ai is founded by the first generation of students from Mainland China to study the integral approaches to philosophy and psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).
Stage Ai develops and provides holistic educational programs that bring a Western psychological and spiritual perspective to China, with emphasis on personal growth, experiential programs, and integral leadership in both personal and professional life. Stage Ai seeks specifically to bridge the gap between academic scholarship and daily life experience, combining Eastern wisdom and Western academic perspectives.
Yan Chen: Co-Founder and Executive Director
Yan Chen is a pioneering learner and the first Chinese graduate from the Integral Counseling Psychology program at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). She is also the first award recipient of the diversity leadership scholarship by the New York Foundation at CIIS and the first graduate from mainland China to complete the comprehensive training at Hakomi Institute of California in body-approached psychotherapy.
Yan Chen is an internationally certified human resources professional, gaining her credential in New York. Prior to founding Stage Ai, Yan Chen worked for international humanitarian organizations such as Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and Refugee International as well as L3 Communications, a Fortune 500 company. Yan Chen had also worked for various international projects in India, Tajikistan, London, Vancouver, San Francisco, and New York. As someone committed to integrating her life experience and passion towards life, she leads a conscious team in the building of a holistic bridge between China and the world.
Paul King: Member of Board of Directors and Business Strategy Advisor
Paul King is a data scientist, product strategist, computational neuroscientist, and software entrepreneur working at the intersection of human psychology and technology strategy. He previously worked in computational neuroscience research as a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley as well as computer vision research in industry. He also led data science teams, first at Facebook as a Product Analytics Manager, and then at Quora, a knowledge-sharing Q&A platform, as Director of Data Science.

Meihong Xu: Education Strategy Advisor
Meihong Xu is a trustee of California Institute of Integral Studies and a well-known investor in Silicon Valley. She was a founding team member of the Softbank Asian Infrastructure Fund (SAIF) and has worked on venture investments in several Asian and US technology projects. Mei has also worked for other Silicon Valley companies, including Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems. Mei also serves on the board of One Heart Worldwide, which provides training and birth centers to local midwives, and establishes a safety net for mothers and infants in remote rural areas around the world.
Ralph White: Program Development Advisor
Ralph White is co-founder of the New York Open Center and America’s leading urban institution of holistic learning where his current role is Senor Fellow and Conference Director. The Open Center has presented the major writers and speakers in the fields of wellness, social/ecological change, inner development, world spiritual traditions, art and creativity for over thirty-three years. He was program director of Omega Institute for Holistic Studies before he co-founded New York Open Center.
Ralph is also an international speaker on spirituality, cultural transformation, and the history of the Western Tradition. He has created hundreds of programs across the spectrum of holistic learning. In particular, he directs the Esoteric Quest conferences in Europe on the Western Tradition that have now continued for twenty years. He has been a seminal presence in the development of the global network of holistic centers.
California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS)
CIIS is a graduate school in San Francisco that takes an integral, interdisciplinary approach to education. It is one of the earliest and leading academic organization focused on transpersonal and integral studies. The Institute offers accredited programs in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, and consciousness and transformation.

Healing the Wounds of History
Healing the Wounds of History is a process in which experiential techniques are used to work with a group of participants who share a common legacy of historical trauma. The process is based on the premise that there can be no political solutions to intercultural conflict until we understand and take into consideration the needs, emotions and unconscious drives of the human being.
